Managing Your PhD Candidature

    The School of Graduate Research provides and supports a range of programs and services designed specifically to help postgraduate students gain essential research skills including:

  • Probationary Status & Confirmation of Candidature (PDF, 15 KB)
    PhD students are first enrolled as ‘probationary’ candidates, and are generally confirmed after 6-12 months. The purpose of the Confirmation process is to determine whether the student has developed a feasible research project, and to present and defend their research.
